RF Code Announces MobileTrak 4.0 Software for Active RFID Search and Asset Tracking Applications

AUSTIN, Texas (December 5, 2007) -- RF Code, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise-class active RFID technology, today announced the availability of the newest generation of its mobile asset tracking application for Windows Mobile handhelds. MobileTrak® 4.0 is designed to run on Bluetooth-enabled handheld computers and smartphones running Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 5, Windows Mobile 6 Standard and Windows Mobile 6 Professional.

Designed to inventory thousands of tagged assets and work seamlessly with RF Code’s M220 and M210 active RFID mobile readers, the new MobileTrak application can be purchased to work with many of the leading Microsoft-powered mobile devices on the market today.

“MobileTrak 4.0 was developed to serve the community of enterprise managers who want to add asset tracking capabilities to the wireless devices that they commonly use throughout the day,” said RF Code CEO Mitch Medford. “It can supplement the industry-specific software applications that RF Code partners offer, and can easily export data in common formats for use with third-party applications.”

Using customizable job inventory definitions, MobileTrak 4.0 gathers data about all RF Code tags within range of a companion active RFID reader. Enterprise asset managers can use the intuitive interface to browse collected tag data, examine individual asset details, or add new information about the status of a particular item. Stored tag inventory data can be saved, exported, or e-mailed for later use. MobileTrak 4.0 also enables users to adjust the antenna range setting to one of eight preset modes. When searching for a specific tagged asset, the application reports signal strength values and provides visual and audible alerts to indicate the proximity of tagged materials.

MobileTrak 4.0 is an ideal entry-level solution to pair with the company’s recently-launched wearable reader. The M220 Mobile Reader is a battery-powered, portable RF device which processes active RFID tag data and links directly to a Bluetooth®-enabled computing device. The capabilities of the rugged, lightweight reader further enhance a user’s ability to monitor mobile assets or personnel. It is equally valuable for the performance of on-demand audits and field inventories. It can be worn on its companion belt clip, mounted in a vehicle, stowed in a pocket or used in a variety of ad-hoc applications.
