AUSTIN, Texas (January 21, 2009) -- RF Code, Inc, a leader in automating physical asset management and wireless environmental monitoring using active RFID, today announced a Starter Pack that makes it easy and affordable for data center managers to quickly implement a real-time wireless environmental monitoring solution.
Up to 50 data center assets can be monitored and managed using the Starter Pack, which includes: active RFID temperature and humidity tags, a reader and software that provides real-time monitoring and lifecycle management. This announcement follows the company's launch of its environmental monitoring solution, announced in late 2008.
The traditional approach to environmental monitoring is to deploy large, wired environmental monitoring systems. These solutions are costly to install and to reconfigure—problems collectively referred to as the "hard-wired headache." RF Code's Starter Pack provides an affordable, painless way to incorporate wireless environmental monitoring into an organization's asset protection strategy.
The Starter Pack addresses several challenges facing data center organizations. About the Starter Pack
Based on RF Code's patented, award winning Active RFID technology, the Starter Pack includes:
- Nine R150 Temperature Tags that monitor temperature-sensitive assets in IT racks, within 2 degrees of accuracy
- One R155 Humidity-Temperature Tag that monitors the relative humidity and ambient temperature surrounding Rack assets
- One M200 Fixed Reader, which interprets and reports the data sent by the active tags to the RF Code software
- RF Code software that captures and manages the environmental data as well as other information about the assets for actionable use
