RF Code in Avocent Technology Demo at Interop 2009
Focus on How Avocent’s New Data Center Solution Leverages RF Code-Generated Environmental Sensor Data
AUSTIN, Texas (May 18, 2009 ) -- RF Code, Inc, provider of “wire-free” critical asset monitoring solutions, today announced it is part of a technology demonstration in the Avocent Corporation (NASDAQ: AVCT) booth (#633) at Interop 2009 in Las Vegas (May 17-21). The first to bring the benefits of active RFID to asset tracking in the data center, RF Code will showcase the integration module it has developed enabling Avocent MergePoint Infrastructure Explorer to take full use of RF Code-generated real-time environmental sensor data. With data center heating and cooling costs escalating, having real-time environmental data gives users the tools to better manage these costs, without having to employ expensive wired solutions.
In March of this year, RF Code introduced Sensor Manager, a wire-free environmental monitoring solution based on the company's active RFID sensors and management software. Sensor Manager automatically collects data from temperature and humidity sensors that can be flexibly placed anywhere in a dense environment, such as a data center, where monitoring is called for.
The technology demonstration highlights how the RF Code “Connector for Infrastructure Manager” integration module sends Sensor Manager information into the Avocent’s new data center solution. The demonstration will also feature a rack equipped with RF Code active wire-free temperature and humidity and doors sensors and a fixed RF Code active RFID reader.
