RF Code's Zone Manager SDK Enhances Inventory Processes for Data Centers
Active RFID-Powered Software Integrates Asset Tracking with Change Management

The SDK will allow systems integrators and application developers to leverage asset location data every few seconds and deploy automated inventory and asset management solutions.

Introduced earlier this year, RF Code's Zone Manager is an intelligent software application that processes real-time active RFID data from tags affixed to IT assets such as servers, PCs and storage devices. Zone Manager precisely determines the location or zone in which an asset is located. Zone Manager works with RF Code's zonal-based M200 fixed readers as well as its new rack-based R200 readers.

Developers using the SDK can query Zone Manager and receive asset inventory and location information without relying on people to manually gather and record this data. Furthermore, the Zone Manager SDK provides a subscription-based interface allowing applications to receive a real-time, continuous stream of asset inventory data as changes occur. Data center management platforms can now leverage move, addition and change details immediately. The SDK allows access to Zone Manager information in a variety of formats including XML, JSON, and CSV, further simplifying integration efforts.
"One of our data center customers from the financial industry was able to integrate real-time asset inventory and location information from Zone Manager into a commercial off-the-shelf asset tracking application within a matter of days," added Gaskins.
RF Code will host a live demonstration of the Zone Manager system in booth 422 at the Spring 2008 Data Center World Expo ( www.datacenterworld.com/world_expo/ ), April 1-2 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The Zone Manager product suite was also selected as one of three finalists in the Enterprise Solutions category in the Third Annual CTIA Emerging Technologies (E-Tech) Awards. A panel of industry analysts, media and technology experts selected finalists based on innovation, creativity and vision and will announce winners on April 2, 2008 at the annual CTIA WIRELESS 2008® conference in Las Vegas.
