Modius OpenData Integration

The Modius OpenData solution is fully integrated with RF Code’s environmental monitoring solution allowing it to easily consume and analyze environmental data. By integrating environmental data into the OpenData platform, customers now get a complete picture about the real-time status and performance of all their physical data center assets. This combined view includes both performance data collected by Modius directly from IT and facilities equipment, as well as environmental data collected by RF Code sensors. The combined information is then used to help operators run more efficient and cost-effective data centers. The entire solution can be delivered at very low cost and covers data centers of any size.

Modius Overview

Modius® is the leading provider of performance management software for real-time facilities infrastructure monitoring. The solution enables IT and facilities to work collaboratively to lower energy costs, expand capacity, and improve the availability of IT services. The Modius flagship product OpenData® monitors all power distribution, cooling and environmental sensor equipment from a single console, providing comprehensive operational intelligence for unified performance analysis and metrics.

Integration Details

Modius OpenData integrates directly with RF Code’s Zone Manager software by utilizing the Zone Manager open API specification. Once connection is made between OpenData and Zone Manager via the TCP/IP network, OpenData reads and consumes all sensor information coming from RF Code wire-free sensor tags such as:

Temperature
Humidity
Fluid detection
Door position
Dry contact

In addition to the sensor tag data, OpenData also monitors the following additional sensor tag attributes:

Tag location
Tag battery status
Tag online/offline status

By using the Zone Manager API specification, Modius OpenData is updated in real-time about sensor reading changes as well as additional tag attributes. The OpenData system has the ability to connect multiple Zone Manager systems providing an enterprise wide scalable solution.
