RF Code and Geist have worked collaboratively to integrate RF Code’s wire-free sensor technology with Geist’s rack power distribution units (PDUs), including phase configuration, average RMS amperage, feed line set ID, and tower ID.  The result: the RF Code R170 PDU Sensor Tag for Geist,  which enables data center managers to monitor real-time power consumption and utilization via RF Code’s wire-free sensor network and Sensor Manager application. The RF Code / Geist solution is ideal for data center managers that want to minimize wiring and eliminate the costly administrative overhead of managing IP connections to each PDU.

The easy-to-deploy wireless RF Code & Geist solution enables IT racks to be instrumented quickly for power monitoring and eliminates the time and cost associated with expensive wired Ethernet connections.  Deploying the joint solution simply involves installing the Geist PDU into the rack and then plugging an RF Code sensor tag into Geist PDU.  All IP address association, configuration, and IP address maintenance is eliminated drastically reducing the cost of PDU power monitoring.
