Careers at RF Code: Embedded Linux Developer

RF Code, Inc . (www.rfcode.com) is seeking a skilled Embedded Linux Developer with a BSEE, BSCS or other degree. Candidates with pertinent work history, 2 to 15 years, will be considered. This is a full time position with benefits. We compensate well and offer equity.

We ARE IoT. Not the buzzword. The real thing. On a big scale. Our systems manage, monitor and alert for millions of sensors and devices. Our products are the Gold Standard in many of the largest companies in the world and are deployed globally. Some of the companies that love us are IBM, Dell, HP, Bloomberg, and CenturyLink (and many other giants others we aren’t allowed to mention).

We have several new and existing projects involving custom linux platforms. These RFID readers and Gateways transform the faint and obscure RF signals from our active RFID tags into valuable data, measurements and metrics business use to solve real problems and prevent disasters.

You will work with high performance and high output individuals in a team. We will learn from each other. Some of the skill areas you must have include:

Linux Development

  • Proficiency in C and C++, Java Script, web content delivery
  • Understand the various distributions and development environments
  • Ability to create a custom linux platform and build environment, leveraging open source and custom code
  • Hands on experience with board bring up and trouble shooting
  • Uboot,, Configuration, build management
  • Have used or familiar with Jenkins, JIRA, Subversion, Git, etc.

Linux Kernel

  • Able to write and adapt Kernel code
  • Adapt the kernel, identify and fix bugs, maintain with patches and updates

Linux Drivers

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience writing peripheral drivers. 
  • Some examples are
    • Wifi
    • USB
    • Bluetooth
    • Audio codec
    • SPI, flash, temperature sensor

Embedded Hardware

  • Working knowledge of Analog to Digital converters, SPI, I2S, I2C, USB, BTLE
  • Real time digital signal processing (DSP) is desirable
  • RF experience is a plus
  • Bluetooth, especially BTLE is a plus
  • Understanding of the analog nature of digital signals and systems
