Job Description:

The Software Verification Engineer will work as a part of a high-performance team. While the role is one of individual contributor, a high degree of interaction and teamwork is required to be effective in the role. The Software Verification Engineer will be part of the verification team improving our test automation coverage. You will work alongside seasoned developers delivering new features for our operational management and environmental monitoring software platform.

Responsibilities:

The Software Verification Engineer will perform test planning, test case development, and test execution (including API-level testing, UI/usability testing, system and performance testing, and scale testing), and test process improvement (initiating and/or adopting test process improvements including automated tests). This position requires excellent communication skills, aptitude for cross-group collaboration, excellent troubleshooting skills, ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, and ability to adjust to changing business needs. Good interpersonal skills are very important. You will work closely with Software Development Engineers and Product Managers to understand new product requirements and functionality, design appropriate test plans and test cases to verify features and functionality and identify bugs through systematic testing. You will be a key person in the product development cycle.

  • Develop automated test cases, recommend and utilize tools to automate UI, performance, and regression testing
  • Plan, design, code, execute and maintain tests to ensure that system requirements are met
  • Participate in feature development and drive quality into products
  • Test, troubleshoot and critique software components and interfaces in technical depth over multiple operating systems and browsers

Qualifications:

  • Experience in test automation development

  • Excellent debugging and problem solving skills

  • Self-driven and ability to work across teams

  • Knowledge of Windows, Linux, IP networking, virtual machine environments, scripting, web and mobile applications

  • Knowledge of software test tools, test methodologies, software life cycle

  • 5 years of industry experience including test plan and test case development, test automation, and code coverage for  complex enterprise applications is preferred (well-qualified entry-level candidates will also be considered)

  • BS degree or equivalent, engineering degree is preferred
