AUSTIN, TX  (April 20, 2020) — Today, RF Code and Chatsworth Products (CPI) announced an integrated rack power distribution unit (PDU) monitoring solution that greatly simplifies the deployment , secure monitoring and management of rack power metrics within the data center.

This joint offering utilizes RF Code wireless power sensor for CPI Monitored and Monitored Pro eConnect® Power Distribution Units (PDUs) to deliver continuous, automated monitoring of PDU metrics at the rack level. Once connected, RF Code’s wire-free power sensor automatically identifies the CPI eConnect model, capabilities and alert information, then relays that information to RF Code’s CenterScape software, providing a consolidated view of power within the data center.

This combined solution provides:

  • Plug and Play configuration: RF Code’s power sensor automatically detects supported eConnect PDUs when connected to the PDU’s Ethernet port
  • Reduced administrative overhead: Wire-free sensors minimize wiring, eliminate costs of managing IP connections to equipment
  • Improved security: One-way communication gathers data from supported PDUs without compromising power security
  • Simple deployment: CenterScape software supports out-of-the-box configurations for PDU power metrics, alert and alarm notifications and includes customizeable dashboards specifically designed for IT professionals.

”The combination of these two products will enable data center operators to take a proactive role in managing rack power consumption while maximizing efficiency as well as rack capacity through the CenterScape Platform,” Jonathan Luce, Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at RF Code. “Further, the integration utilizes actual power and correlating information from historical trends and other sensors helps to maintain uptime, provides better capacity planning and facilitates increases in energy savings."

"CPI continues to build a powerful, flexible ecosystem through industry alliances. Integration with RF Code allows eConnect PDUs to be used by customers who value the intelligent monitoring capabilities of PDUs but prefer not to put them on an IP network" says Ashish Moondra, CPI’s Sr. Product Manager of Power, Electronics & Software.
