RF Code Launches New R136 Fluid Location Detection Sensor

AUSTIN, TEXAS — April 7, 2026 — RF Code, a provider of patented sensor and software solutions for real-time asset tracking and data center telemetry, today announced the R136 Pinpoint Fluid Detection Sensor, the newest addition to its fluid detection sensor family. The R136 combines a reusable sensing strip with 433.92 MHz active RFID communication to detect the presence and precise location of a fluid leak in real time, without the wiring typically required by traditional fluid detection systems.

“Pinpoint is the latest addition to our Fluid Detection Sensor family, and it solves the problem of how to pinpoint the location of fluid in a large data center space,” said Brett Arnott, COO, RF Code. “With Pinpoint’s fluid location detection you know immediately when there is a fluid leak and exactly where it is, so that you can respond faster to prevent a small leak from becoming an expensive flood. Pinpoint is ideal for liquid cooling systems used for AI infrastructure.”

The R136 detects conductive fluids common in data centers, including water and water-glycol coolant mixes up to 50% propylene glycol (PG50), and pinpoints the location of a leak along its sensing strip to within ±2 feet. The sensing strip is available in 10, 25, and 50-meter lengths, giving operators the flexibility to cover individual racks, full rows, or larger liquid-cooled deployments. The sensor’s replaceable coin-cell battery is rated for more than 5 years of typical use, and its wire-free design allows for fast installation using adhesive, screws, or zip ties.

Because the R136 requires only a minimal amount of fluid to trigger an alert, it can catch leaks earlier than traditional sensors. And unlike sensors that need “air time” to dry off before they can detect fluid again, the R136’s film sensor strip can be wiped down and returned to service immediately, eliminating detection downtime between incidents.

The R136 integrates directly with RF Code’s CenterScape platform, so when fluid is detected, operators immediately see which specific racks or locations are at risk and can correlate the alert with the assets tracked in that area. Fluid detection data and alerts can also be integrated with existing DCIM and BMS systems via Modbus, BACnet, MQTT, and API.
