In response to demand from mid to large distributed enterprises, RF Code releases a bundle to improve the management of the entire systems network.

AUSTIN, TX (February 28, 2013) — RF Code today announces the availability of an environmental monitoring (EM) bundle for distributed network and telecommunications closets. RF Code provides real-time asset management and wire-free environmental monitoring solutions to the data centers of many of the world’s largest companies and has launched this low-cost package to address increased customer and market demand.

Network, or telecoms, closets are the essential “spokes” to the hub of the data center. Geographically distributed offices, departmental processing systems, critical applications and intra-company connectivity are all located in rooms not originally designed to house environmentally sensitive technology.

“The challenge faced by the engineers in charge of network and wiring closets is as tough as that of their colleagues in the data center,” explained Mitch Medford, CEO of RF Code. “In their case, however, they often don't have the power and cooling infrastructure to monitor and maintain the necessary environment for this critical equipment.”

RF Code’s EM bundle for distributed network and telecoms closets will include all sensors and readers required to ensure conditions that affect the power and cooling of the room, and the availability and performance of the systems, are monitored from any location – remote or local. In a recent case study, American Greetings wrote of the dramatic time and cost savings they now benefit from due to remote location monitoring.

RF Code has forged a position as the defacto standard for asset management and environmental monitoring within data centers. It provides live data to the majority of the leading DCIM platforms as well as enabling automated facilities management through integrations to BMS systems.

Medford added, “These rooms are critical to the performance of organizations but are difficult to monitor and control. RF Code’s economically-priced monitoring bundle will reduce costly downtime, improve efficiency and improve overall awareness of systems performance.”

RF Code also provides solutions to other markets. Industrial companies depend on real-time visibility of assets and must ensure that fluctuating conditions throughout a supply chain do not destroy products. In hospitals, RF Code is used in the tracking and positioning of life-saving equipment and the monitoring of the conditions in which drugs and food are kept.
